Ragnarok - Norwegian series season 1

"Ragnarok" has been recently added to Netflix and i was quite drawn to it due to the trailer and of course "Thor" God of Thunder.

Our main character Magne has been chosen to receive the powers of "Thor". Though i expected that he would grasp the full potential of his power quickly but i was pleasantly surprised to see that the series takes it slowly for Magne to understand his powers , yet not fully.

Well, we have our superhero now here we have a fully-functional family of giants. They don't look like giants but are equally strong. They have integrated well within the society.

It all starts when Isolde (Magne's only friend) and Magne decide to go on a mountain hike and Magne has to return mid-trip due to a prank by his brother Laurits , sounds similar to Loki ;). Meanwhile Isolde discovers a tunnel which she thinks is the root of all the pollution in the waters.

A little background about Isolde, she has been constantly campaigning about the pollution in the water of Edda (town where this is happening) which is slowly making everyone sick. She thinks Jutul Industries is the cause of all the pollution and no points for guessing that Jutul Industries is owned by the giants.

Daddy giants kills Isolde, this sets Magne to start an investigation of his own and slowly discover his own powers in the process. There is also a love triangle of sorts between Magne, who likes a girl Gry, Gry in turn likes Boy giant and Boy giant has to choose between Gry and his family.

Magne is successfully able to expose Jutul industries and it somewhat leads into a fight between Daddy giant and Magne. Just when it seems that Magne is going to bit the dust, lightning strikes (literally).

All in all , season 1 was promising for me and i will be waiting for season 2.

Magne's brother , Lauritis, has done some good piece of acting and specially his speech on the constitution day. There is a surprise for you guys in this speech ;)

Hope you guys enjoy the series, i know i did.
